I'm sorry if my terminology was confusing. Nickel tenor is a theoretical calculation where if you were to have a purely theoretical content of 100% sulphide, how much nickel would it contain?
Nickel tenor is used as a measure of the quality of the nickel sulphide content of your system.
In the case of Mt Keith (which as you quite rightly point out doesn't have 100% sulphide, but more like 2% sulphide) if you scaled up the sulphide so you DID have 100% sulphide, then the nickel grade would probably be in excess of 35% as nearly all the sulphide content of the system is nickel sulphide, not much of anything else. But, as its only 2% sulphide, you get 0.6% nickel or there abouts. That's how rich this komatiite sulphide type of deposit is in nickel.
In a **bro system, if you had a theoretical 100% sulphide, you would expect to see something on the order of 4-8% nickel as the great bulk of the sulphide is iron sulphide with only relatively minor nickel sulphides. So, you do the math on what nickel grades you might expect on the actual 2% sulphide material.
Sorry for the confusion. Hopefully Buxton have a tiger by the tail and find a massive sulphide lode at good grades. Lots of exploration to be done and with good encouragement. GLTAH!
