"Federal export credit guarantees (so-called Hermes guarantees) have been an important tool for promoting foreign trade for decades. They protect exporters and banks against payment defaults caused by economic and political reasons. The range of cover extends across the entire value-added chain - from production to delivery to the payment of the last installment.
Deliveries and services that serve, among other things, to secure and create jobs in Germany and to open up new sales markets are considered worthy of support. Businesses by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are particularly worthy of support."
