Meanwhile, Helix Resources was chasing funds to step up drilling in an effort to increase the company’s copper resources. The Mark Creasy-backed copper play is expected to raise at a 20 per cent discount to its last close.Investors spent the weekend thinking about two of Helix’s four projects in NSW’s Cobar basin - a hotbed of deal activity- and strategically positioned nearby to projects owned by Aurelia Metals, Aeris Resources, Peel Mining and Glencore’s CSA mine.Helix’s 40 square kilometre copper patch in Cobar, called the Canbelego project, is already a joint venture with Aeris.The stock last traded at 1.5¢ a share.Interestingly, it’s another Cobar copper deal for Ashanti Capital, which also raised for Peel Mining last month. Ashanti’s pitch, investors said, was that someone able to consolidate the Cobar basin plays has the potential to become one of Australia’s top copper producers.
