On the subject of this announcement, it looks like a pretty worthless acquisition to me. For once I actually agree with GCar (to a point), I suspect that many of the tenements that were acquired were likely thrown in as part of a package deal. >90% of the acquired land looks unusable due to elevation/terrain, so they probably took what they could get, which wasn't much other than the small square tenement directly beneath the southern border of Don Fermin.
It's interesting that they haven't disclosed what they're paying for it; nothing of value is free. I wonder whether they'll announce the cost, or whether they'll just bury it within the JV costs in the quarterly cash report. I suspect it will be the latter, seeing that they didn't mention it in this release.
Personally, I think AGY should have just made a move on the Don Fermin tenement sooner. Argentina Lithium & Energy (ALE: TSX) picked it up 7 months ago for US$2.75m, payable over 18 months, with only a US$250k down-payment:
