If yield and low PE are your only tools of analysis then you will absolutely love cigar butts and value traps. Yield can be artificially manufactured to conceal structural faults and low PE's might mean that the market have got it right, the stock is a dog!
What about growth prospects, strength of Balance Sheet, enduring competitive advantages and strength and involvement of management...not to mention what the smart money might be doing. Amongst other instos to be increasing holdings of late, take particular note of BB Retail Capital and then see who is behind it. Then ask yourself, does this very successful retailer know something I might not.
