To attract a top CFO like Gardiner there would have to be incentives and/or compensation for foregone bonus at Country Road Group. The $412k of foregone loan is akin to comp for foregone bonus and any LTI foregone upon leaving CRG. The fact that Gardiner bought $1 million of shares is a fantastic alignment. Gardner has doubled his money. The structuring of his rem and benefits is very clever. This looks like the Chairman has structured the arrangements.
Any US expansion must be cautious. It is doable but doing business in the US is like doing business in 52 individual countries, each state is very different and each has a different tax regime.
I think the $15 same day delivery is a confluence of customers keen to get product immediately versus the surge in on line orders is clogging traditional courier deliveries. Aust Post say everyday at the moment is like The Christmas rush.
