If the pay packet was their primary concern they would not be working at ahz. Larger companies would offer better base pay plus enormous bonuses.

They are here for the opportunity to demonstrate that they can operate as an effective CEO/COO and turnaround a company on the brink to become a major player. Whats in it for them? Apart from self-development, which believe it or not is as important as money to high functioning people, if they pull this off they could easily be in contention for the same level rolls at merck etc which is the big boys league and where the money/status would dwarf ahz. Of course money is important, but for people like this, it is just the starting point. Challenge, development and opportunity are just as, if not more, critical.

These guys are the real deal. They are no looking to cash out at a company this size. We're lucky to have them and we'll be enormously lucky if they are still here in 2-3 years (and yes if we kept them we'd probably have to double their pay).
