One needs to be mindful that many chd repairs do not require a patch. Evidence suggests that asd and vsd repairs represent less than 15 % of all chd procedures. Furthermore for the septal defects, a proportion (5 to 20%) are simply sewn shut. No patch required.
I am excited about the increasing numbers and procedures and sites and duristictions. I believe it is about to grow fast, however evety chd procedure performed can not be translated to the sale of a patch. For my 2 cents worth, ......... 60 centres at 70 procedures per year each = 4200 patches sold. Pro rata of 6.2 milĺion annual revenue. Each additional centre and that will increase further.
Id rather underestimate and be pleasently surprised rather than over estimste and be dissapointed
