Wayne brought the company back from the brink with "code red", but then proceeded to launch those initiatives, and recruit people with what appears to be little more than faith.

The numbers don't lie, many of us have taken the numbers we were told to expect, and compared them to the numbers that were reality, and the truth is none of us as "lay people on the outside" could see how they (management and board) could have possibly believed it had any faith in what they told us.
