Sorry just for more clarity on my first post. The process is actually:

Link Australian sub-register -> Link Asset Services UK (completely different to the Australian Link, I guess they are the same brand or parent company or whatever but they do not talk to one another) -> Pershing's CREST account -> Pershing's custody.

So Link Asset Services UK are trying to deposit your shares into Pershing but there is no 601/0AC..... participant and they are just awaiting further instruction which is basically on you to provide.

But yeah main point, Link Australian and Link UK are two completely separate entities and will not help you in conjunction and the broker will also basically leave you to fend for yourself as well. You get to be the intermediary!
