After selling all of my ADN shares to purchase MEP to take advantage of the arbitrage before the buyout I was left with an average buy price of $0.15 for MEP (sold ADN at $0.185 and bought MEP at $0.19)Does this mean that after the 15% allowance on paper my costs are $0.13 per share for my ADN shares?
Does the cost of the spinoff shares come off this as well which I think is 1c pre consolidation bringing the buy cost to $0.12?
Would this mean that the on paper buy cost is $0.00 and the full amount is taxable on selling? Any ideas on the capital gains anniversary date will be for these shares? Does it start when they are received or is it tied to the purchase dates of when the original MEP shares were bought (which for me is 21/12/2021)?
Cheers,
