the short sellers profit from panic, that's how they make for a living.
theoretically if just them selling, they will have to buy back with the same consideration plus paying interest to the stock lender, however because their vicious selling causes panic, more holders lose faith and join the selling force so the short seller can buy cheaper.
if ABY proves itself in the next few quarters, this may cause a short squeeze and we may see the fast pace of price change, in this case, up north.
