AMX were one of the first RPAS commercial license holders in the country.
As with allot of disruptive technologies, the legislative frameworks & industry regulators that handle aviation safety, are lagging far behind the capabilities of technology.
Regulators focus their resources to supporting well established but legacy arrangements, and these tend to be very difficult to change, inhibiting adaptation and acceptance of new technology like drones. The regualtors are coming around, but it will be 10-15 years behind where it could have been.
I think the opportunity for small scale drone capture does exist, but there are tonnes of players eating each other at local levels. Think: dial-a-plumber; there's already the equivalent of dial-a-drone. There are more drone manufacturers and operators that've failed than you can poke a stick at. The best drone operators are those that once relied upon a service provider like AMX, and spent the time and energy on how they might be able to do it themselves without being hamstrung of operating in congested or controlled airspace.
Large scale drones that match the speed, endurance & scale offered with manned aircraft, require military sized budgets to aquire and support, and where AMX operate, would still be subject to the antiquated air traffic control systems which barely cope with existing commercial workloads.
So in general, to make the commercial drone dream a reality, requires a complete overhaul of the airspace control systems.
It's a huge barrier for new entrants and technology to the industry, and requires adoption of a globally adopted traffic management framework to overcome.
AMX are fortunate that the barriers for competitors are so high.
