LONDON (Proactive Investors) -
Polo Resources Ltd (AIM: PRL) announced that its 11.1 percent held affiliate West Australian Metals Ltd (ASX: WME) plans to start an extensive drilling campaign at its 80 percent-owned Marenica uranium project in Namibia in August 2009.
Following WME's recent A$9.9 million fundraising, it is budgeting A$5 (US$3.9) million for the six months programme. With an initial 5,000-metre drilling programme the company will infill areas of wide-spaced drilling completed in 2008, and the new campaign will include 100-hole exploration work to the west of the known resource.
A further 5,000 metre programme will explore for primary mineralisation within and north of the Marenica dome following on from successful results achieved in exploration diamond drilling. Following completion of this exploration programme, West Australian Metals intends to begin a scoping study later this year.
