I agree that AGL has a big retail book that needs hedging and renewables alone can’t do that. We have paid the price for moving early with the write downs on early PPAs that were for 15 years and totally out of market after 5. But the coal plants are a liability. Unreliable and can’t ramp to respond to wholesale prices. We need batteries and gas.
Regarding wokism, I agree it’s toxic but this board wasn’t really woke, just incompetent in my view. The market has been signaling what’s happening for ages and they’ve ignored it.
