Get a grip and have a look at the states with the largest power price increases. It's Queensland and NSW, those that rely most heavily on (costly) non-renewables. The increases in Victoria and South Australia by comparison are relatively modest.
Those arguing for status quo is akin to arguing against clearing paths for the train network on the basis of wanting them maintained for horse and buggies.
