Climate change is a decadent issue for the top income earners in Western countries. Which is also why the north shore of Sydney suddenly has independent representatives instead of conservative liberals.
Rich, selfish Australians who need a moral issue like climate change to defend themselves from the very obvious question of how they managed to get so rich without really doing anything other than owning property or being born into the right family.
The most obvious question is why there is such a focus on an issue which Australia can not control. Even if Australia became emission free today, it would have zero impact on the worlds temperatures.
Most of the climate change debate is just a political power grab.
Smart countries like China and India know how to ensure the lights and air conditioners stay running:
