Liddel is very old and in my opinion it was falling apart when I was onsite 6 years ago. I’m an engineer, the turbines were vibrating, the valves were vibrating and the steam pipes sagging. Bayswater is much newer and it appeared it good stead. I think Liddel should be scrapped, there are some smart people out there who can come up with new energy technologies, Battery, solar and wind are gaining in efficiency, better to lead the way forward, there are investors out there who will only invest in clean energy technology.
Better to to have a good power station like Bayswater backed up with battery then try and save Liddel.
