The drop in SP to A$0.365 by 1330 AEDT on Tuesday 1 February 2022 might be partly due to the closed, flooded Trans Australia Railway (and because of that the branch line from Tarcoola to Alice Springs and Darwin) and consequent extra costs LAU may be incurring, together with the worry re interest rate rises and inflation that (notwithstanding today's ABS December 2021 retail sales figures) may adversely affect consumer demand.
If the latter occurs, there may be lower demand for domestic transport companies in time.
The news wasn't all bad for retail sales in December 2021 but 'The Oz' one line summary was:
"...Meanwhile, retail sales dived 4.4% vs a 2% fall expected by economists."
