The Australian Rail Track Corporation has revised forward its suggested reopening date for the important Trans Australia Railway along which LAU was sending at least 400 railable containers a month prior to the flooding that led to closure on 21 January 2021:

“The Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) has revised its opening forecast based on the observed progress of restoration works.

Operations are now expected to recommence on the Trans-Australian railway between Adelaide and Tarcoola from 15thFebruary.

ARTC will work with our customers to ensure operations can commence safely and that freight can get moving on this vital rail link connecting Western Australia and the Northern Territory.

“Since the flooding occurred on the weekend of the 21st, 22nd and 23rd of January, our crews have worked around the clock to fix damaged locations along a 300km stretch of track..."
