Looking at shortman.com, 27% of opened shorts were closed after BRN SP hit the recent ATH. Some of those shorts would have made decent gains. Others will have lost. Win some, lose some, just like traders.
Shorts are just part of the market makeup, nothing I ever get concerned about. I keep an eye on them as they can be a somewhat decent indicator of overvaluations, but they're not always right.
BRN currently doesn't meet any of the earnings/revenue requirements to list on the NASDAQ, but they might be able to list based on asset value. I don't think the US would react favourably but this kind of listing, but I do acknowledge the revenue situation could change in future.
