@platinumstandard did put forth the proposition: "...some of the highest profile cardiologists/cardiac surgeon in the world.....If they back a dud product, their professional lives and livelihood would suffer significantly ..."
It may be comforting to think so, but what is the evidence for that assertion?
How many senior surgeons in this or similar fields have had significant professional setbacks because they backed a product that either : failed miserably? or just didn't measure up to required standard? or worked well enough but never got deployed commercially - too expenseive etc?
In other words, how much skin do the specialists who endorse this or similar products seriously stand to lose?
I don't know at all, but I somehow suspect: not much.
