I have always been confused by this comment about patients with advanced diabetic kidney disease.
'it should become the standard of care for ALL diabetic patients, especially those who have advanced diabetic kidney disease as they may requite multiple tests per year',
My understanding was that the intention of this test was to identify diabetic patients with upcoming kidney problems up to 4 years prior to the normal GFR blood test and this would enable them to then commence treatments earlier with the intention of possibly keeping them off dialysis or transplant longer.
Why would you need to do multiple tests during a year?
Wasn't this the problem they had with getting TGA approval - possible overservicing?
