Just interested as k1 k2 do the exact opposite to what is said unless it is in some other context. k Is a blood clotter.

K1 Phylloquinone^®, Phytonadione^®, AquaMEPHYTON^®, Mephyton^®, Konakion^® is given as injection as variable absorption via gut and want newborn at lower risk of brain, gut organ and external bleeds / bruising.

K is needed to clot blood. Newborns don't produce K2 in gut for a few days ( realistically first 3-6 months premi or late onset ) till internal organ sort themselves and guts may have trouble absorbing until bacteria exists . No store in liver yet as k doesn't travel well via placenta. Mother medication , antibiotics , epilepsy meds , blood thinners may prevent k production and levels in initial colostrum from mum , not much in normal b milk afterwards.

So now for the reality - what is the benefit if they were successful
Assume we are talking subcutaneously or intramuscularly otherwise it would be interesting.
What is problem with existing? Cost reduction with TPM and synthetic Vit K? It isn't expensive!
Overdose?
Is this trendy anti vax ?
Small aluminum in current product - would TPM change this ?

Marketing product differentiation advantage or medical advantage of possibly quicker absorption giving quicker protection to newborn?
