The Chairman's resignation statement was profound - we have a major gas discovery! It can't be more clear cut than that! Resigning for personal reasons is absolutely fine, nothing to question here. I'm more interested in who the new Chairman will be? With a major onshore gas discovery basically 90% done I expect there will be a lot of high quality candidates applying for the role... New Chairman appointment in the coming weeks could be a major win.....
Share price action today a reflection of short term traders getting caught out and no doubt trading on margin so having to close out their positions at a loss.... For the long term investor (ie. more than 3 months!) this is a wonderful buying opportunity! I'm raising cash from other investments today and will continue to BUY IVZ in the coming days....
