The dropping of the water pipeline is not unexpected. It was illegal and unviable. The explanation given to investors though is unconvincing at best. There is no information in the EIS or in this latest communication to show where the water will come from now, or to show that the water is no longer needed. My guess is the EIS will need to be resubmitted with this information included, as required by the SEARS and relevant legislation. Proponents promised in 2012 that mining would commence in 2014. It seems as far away as ever.
