Something that is often overlooked is that southeast Queensland's continuing population growth (and to a lesser extent Western Australia's) adds in its own small way to the transport task in Oz, because Melbourne is the #1 manufacturing centre (and Sydney, by some margin, #2).
Many building materials such as steel (not handled by LAU), produce (LAU is a specialist) as well as supermarket dry goods (LAU plays a role) have to be moved from #1 and #2 (or those states' rural areas) long distances to the Gold Coast or Perth.
Ideal for LAU as it can tailor transport to such clients' needs.
Higher diesel prices will be hindering small operators that have competed against growing larger entities such as LAU. Again at least a small net positive for our company.
