Only partly correct see 14.11 Taking a Poll of the new constitution. If a Poll is called for by the requisite number of shareholders a count of actual voting share entitlement has to be taken. This is most likely the same in the old Constitution and for every other ASX listed company. The show of hands is a process for saving time when votes are not controversial.
