Yeah . think it was wasteful futile effort to put a floor under Mayne shares after AGM abysmal trading performance and inevitable company downgrade . If we have major / institutional selling after the dividend cash splurge , the crap company gave us about Metrics sale being a " key driver " of Mayne's transformation strategy and unlock "significant value for shareholders " . Richards still CEO when this "unlocking of significant value to shareholders " was concocted . Outgoing CEO is a major shareholder in Mayne still holds many millions of undeserved shares . This Special dividend is one hell of a Golden handshake for Richards . Fail to see how retail holders benefit when share value decimated ex dividend .
