Oh boy.... 22% of all US dealerships, being ~4,000 GM dealerships of a total ~18,000 light vehicle dealerships across the US.

To further understand the number behind this statistic and the implications:
- There are ~18,000 light vehicle dealerships across the US, with ~4,000 of these being GM dealerships.
- OnTrac, CXZ's software, was rolled out in January of last year as part of GM's CTP program.
- GM is the leading manufacturer in the US, and the fourth largest in the world.
- The global telematics industry is growing rapidly (~$26b '20, 20.6% CAGR 2020-2026 anticipated / CAGR 2014-2020 33.7% registered). The US is the largest market share in the industry.
- New vehicle subscriptions were increasing consistently until COVID. It should be noted that as the OnTrac software is used for new fleet vehicles and demo vehicles that there is direct correlation to vehicle manufacturing and sales, hence the recent decline in subscription numbers.

The stages of technological adoption should also be taken into account when considering the use of OnTrac across GM dealerships, i.e. innovators, early adopters, majority adopters and those reluctant to utilise new technology. At present, if you take the current vehicle subscription numbers divided by GM dealerships across the US you end up with approximately 15 vehicle subscriptions per dealership. It would be interesting to see how evenly this measures across dealerships and the phenomenon of technological adoption as I believe some dealers may take time to comprehend the benefits of using the software.
