Yes, the share price certainly started to head south when that was announced.
He clarified the reasoning for that at the meeting. He said that he was not happy managing the company, wanted to leave that to someone else and concentrate on acquisitions. It took him 18 months to get the board to agree to let him do that.
He is also resigning as a director as he didnt think it appropriate for a new manager to be reporting to him.
There are plenty of acquisitions in the pipeline and he has a great track record of making successful ones, so it is good that he will have more time to concentrate on them.
