Some news on our transport issues:
The scoping study uses the road from our mine to Fekessedougou via Bougouni (yellow line) and the railway from Ferkessedougou to Abidjan (red lines).

-There are 6 new locomotives operating and an infrastructure upgrade starts Q1/2018

-A dry port in Ferkessedougou (blue sqare) will be built till 2020 (allows us to combine border and export clearance)

-The ECOWAS (economic community of west African states) prioritized a project to connect Bamako with a railway to Ouangolodougou (near Ferkessedougou; green line) via Bougouni and Sikasso (Sisako mistake in the BGS map)

Starting the construction in Ouangolodougou they will soon reach Sikasso and Bougouni which will reduce the distance to be driven by trucks
-The project will be promoted at the Invest in Mali-forum (which I think we should attend??)

-The railway from Bamako to the Abidjan-Port-Railway is also part of Guineas 5-year plan. For this plan they just collected 20 mrd USD from private investors, the EU, the islamic development bank and others.

-Another important project for our transportation issues is the dry port of Sikasso (blue square). It is also promoted on the Invest in Mali-forum. It would have the same advantages like the dry port in Ferkessedougou

Investor and operator for all of these projects might be Bollore. They run the Abidjan-Port-Railway and are introduced in the scoping study. They are hotly tipped as investors for the Sikasso dry port as they have a logistic center there and already run the Bamako dry port.

The forum on the 7th and 8th December might change the transport situation. There is much money to support west African infrastructure from the EU and developement banks.
