Seriously, why don't you ring the company and make some friendly but pertinent enquiries? You have technical knowledge; why not use it in trying to establish the lie of the land... More helpful.
Your speculation might be right, or part right, but better to ask, than speculate, don't you think?
(btw that video taken at the conference was a month old - beginning of November I think)
