FCA, PSA Unveil Official ‘Stellantis’ Logo As Symbol Of Heritage

Back in July, Fiat Chrysler and PSA announced that their combined companies would jointly be called ‘Stellantis’, which comes from the Latin verb “stello”, meaning “to brighten with stars.”

That was also when they announced that an official logo would be unveiled in the future, and it only took them an extra five months to add a bunch of small dots in orbit of the letter ‘A’ – the fontis the same onethey used in July.

By unveiling this logo, the twoautomotive giantshave taken yet another step towards completing their merger, which should take place by the end of the first quarter of 2021. Until then, customary closing conditions still have to be upheld, including shareholder approval, the satisfaction of antitrust laws, plus various other regulatory requirements.

“The logo symbolises the rich heritage of Stellantis’ founding companies and the unique combined strengths of the new group’s portfolio of 14 storied automotive brands, as well as the diversity of professional backgrounds of its employees working in all the regions.”

“Along with the Stellantis name, it is the visual representation of the spirit of optimism, energy and renewal of a diverse and innovative company determined to be one of the new leaders in the next era of sustainable mobility.”

FCA and PSA have already signed the cross-border merger agreement, while European Union officials are reportedly gearing up to approve the merger by the end of this year. Onceeverything is finalized, the two carmakers will combine to create the world’s 4th largest global automotive OEM by volume.
