That experience gives me far more understanding about currencies than a posted google source that says nothing to back up your argument. I also posted one that clearly said that the dollar sign was not used.

1) A dollar sign is never used to denote the Yuan. They have their own symbol - like the Euro has which is also a decimal currency like the dollar
2) Chinese citizens never refer to the Yuan as dollars - and wouldn't anyway because they have national pride on their side - but to do so is inaccurate. Australians don't refer to our dollar as the Yen even when we are dealing with Japanese transactions. Completely ridiculous to do so.
3) None of the Chinese I have met in my life time have ever referred to the Yuan as dollars in writing or verbally . None of the overseas banks have ever referred to the Yuan as dollars either - including those in China or Hong Kong when the transactions are in Yuan.
4) when you use conversion rates you never use the dollar symbol for both unless both use dollars as their currency - when you convert Australian dollars to US dollars it is not a neat swap of the same number value - and it is not with Yuan either. It is actually causing confusion - which is why Chinese products on line are either quoted as Yuan OR another currency.
5) In regard to your silly assertion that I need a Chinese background to understand the Yuan, one of my brother in-law is Chinese and travels quite often back to China by the way. Though I never thought that was important with this discussion - I don't have to have any Chinese family connections to do my job or understand currencies.

I'll back my life/work experience with currencies against your egotistical stance any time.

please guys stop the ramping about nothing & keep your eyes on the green please.
