Same ol’ same ol’ Mal.
Same Board/Management. Same business growth. Been going on for years.
Same shareholders. Same share price deterioration. Been going on for years.
Many of the HC opinions don’t make that distinction, but I think it’s an important one for all to be aware of in making our decisions.
The value of an operating business is the same independent of whether it is as an unlisted private company or as a listed public company. The market doesn’t determine its value, only its market cap.
The difference is that the latter system is designed to allow access to the fodder required for businesses to achieve viability. Once that occurs larger investors then begin to move in as their new owners to access the value that has been created.
That also has been going on for years.
