Tim came to MGT to build a mine…he may not be the most polished ‘performer’ and I am very happy about that. The fact that he wants to get correct data and messages across reinforces his credibilty in my eyes. I am firm believer in ‘Beware the spruiker!’
(and before I get the regulation comments about my being connected to the company - I am not and never have been - apart from being a long time reasonably major holder. I just don’t visit Hotcopper very often.I would like to as it used to be a valuable resource)
The extension makes sense for many reasons. Most of the Financial World are away right now so this great news will take a while to penetrate. I have no doubt this offer will be 90%+ taken up as there will be strong demand for any shortfall.
We will then have cash and not be ‘price capped’ with lots to look forward to.
We need new shareholders as most of us current ones suffer from fatigue or overinvestment in what is still a very small company.
I now feel very excited again and will be taking up our full entitlement - and most likely apply for more. I know other major holders thinking the same.
I imagine the Board could have placed this raise - but they have been consistent throughout in offering shareholders the chance to participate. Mind you, future placements to strategic investors would be most welcome!
It has been a long time coming for us tired, hurt and doubting shareholders - but we now have validation with a huge prudent Japanese Steel company. I could only imagine the DD and scrutiny both the project and the MGT Management team have been under. And we should not overlook FOMO from other potential suitors now that we have landed a big fish.
Tim has assembled an impressive team and I feel we are in great hands. Those trips to Japan and hosting them were clearly a great investment along with the other roadshows and relationship building initiatives with government and the like.
They have a plan and have executed to date, albeit slower than anyone wanted - including them. These huge projects are never linear.
Lets get on board and enjoy the positives - we deserve them!
