Yeah I don't think a consultancy firm would partner with a company that supposedly was "dead in the water" check out the Strategic Alignment: The agreement includes project and retainer fees along with an outcome-based success model to align the interests of both parties in achieving commercial outcomes.
why would a company take on board a client if they didn't have anything of interest, both parties need to get paid $$$ no point in taking up a client who has no ability to pay you for your work in the first place.
