After the discovery of Julimar the residents, and animals, of the area were surprised by these weird flying monsters.
Soon to be experienced at Toolbrunup.
Some regional context for this exploration:
While physically not close to Julimar Toolbrunup is touted as a near cousin and hopefully even more closely related to Gonneville.
Ground electromagnetic surveys have found conductors some (not all from memory - DYOR) of which drilling has shown to be mineralised at Gonneville. However, there are apparently some decent intersections that do NOT have a distinct EM signature.
Significant interest was engendered by the AEM survey of the entire Julimar magnetic anomaly which showed local EM anomalies.
The Hartog anomaly looks like a doozy. One caveat is that it is NOT directly related to the magnetic anomaly, another is its location in a state forest. Issues CHN are very much aware of...and will deal with in some ways.
The exploration success at Julimar caught CVV a bit by surprise and they brought forward regional exploration acquisitions that were being developed using their extensive geochem database (comment at an AGM).
Comparisons of magnetic signatures.
At Julimar only the southernmost 1-2Kms of the magnetic anomaly can be drill tested at the moment. Access to the state Forest northern section is being sought... Drilling north of the Gonneville EM and magnetic target is shown above. Results look patchy so far but early days and the drilling might be in a weaker part of the EM response.
Gonneville is being touted as a major discovery - certainly looks like it. What has been drilled already is only 1-2 Kms long and 1 Km wide extending to some 500m. Toolbrunup and Mt William tick the size box easily.
All Julimar look alike magnetic anomalies have been staked in SW WA. All? probably. There have been at least two previous Precious metal (Ni Cu Pt/Pd) rushes in the south west of WA. The recent discovery has turned the area into an exploration hot spot.
Recent drilling of what began as PMG/e targets near Moora (LTR) found more gold and copper than precious metals. Not too surprising in rocks of this age since many gold deposits are found in or near Ultramafics/Mafics. The possibility of serendipitous discoveries is always worth keeping in mind. [Kambalda/St Ives is one example of Ni/Au deposits in close proximity, Red Lake Ontario (Au ultramafics) + many others]
The flight lines at Toolbrunup are shown as N-S. I suspect WNW-ESE or even E-W might be a better orientations if any conductors are coincident or parallel to the main magnetic trend (e.g. Hartog at Julimar).
This flight direction would have been signed off by geophysicists who know how the Skytem system will interact if it is flown sub-parallel to any conductors.
Toolbrunup looks more broken in a magnetic sense than Julimar. Could be a function of spacing on magnetic surveys or real. Individual magnetic anomalies are quite large.
Mt William looks more like Gonneville albeit somewhat larger. The magnetic signature compares very well (possible layering and a blue magnetic low 'halo' being characteristics CVV consider useful for comparison). Lack of access is another unfortunate comparison with parts of Julimar. Will be interesting to see how both those cases pan out.
=======
Cloud obscured Bindi on the most recent pass.
There were 6 new disturbance sites (=?RC sites) to March 2. The two eastern ones would not be tests of the East Limb - my best guess would be hydrogeological test wells. Follow up of old, anomalous aircore results would be a more positive interpretation.
There was a lot of rain and lightning over SW WA earlier this month which likely impacted drilling progress. 75mm at Wongan hills, 100+mm at Dalwallinu just north of Bindi and 140mm at Northam to the south - variable but enough to make off road access tricky in some areas.
