normally helicopters use a wire with magnetic detectors.
or front/rear-end low altitude aircrafts. (aircrafts are able to cover larger areas with larger scanning areas)
as for drones - I know some USA firms using them - but due to the distance needed, I've heard they're not viable for long distance such as Dre is wanting to cover. (drones are only about 30/80km then the added tech weighs it down.
