No oil drilling expert but my take on announcement was the very bottom of the well, where the highest pressure is may be hard to produce as may be very close to water contact, the thing being missed though is the 'big deal we have 500m to produce above this'. No oilers like to see the possibility of water influx into a well though but in this case with 500m above I would hazard a guess and say this will still be a good producer and they may simply need to cap off the bottom section, will buy more myself when the dust settles.
