Variable, "encouraging" oil shows (described as "good" by Melbana personnel) was encountered from just below the first casing point at 457 metres to the current depth of 1820 metres, including through the first target zone "U1", in which these oil shows were described as "excellent".
The U1/Amistad is a secondary zone of interest, which has a CoS of 15%. Finding oil here bodes well for finding oil deeper imo, if Alameda and the "N" structure have a 23-25% CoS, with 44 BBLs light oil recovered from Alameda in a down-flank position in 1988.
Looks like we may have found some icing on the cake. Now to drill down to the cake itself.
