With regard to funding efforts it is mostly in their control how they do it but it not necessarily in their control with regard to approval, banks may say no, grants may be withdrawn or varied, tax regime may change. Basically situation we are in now. They have made their proposal and the wagovt need to assess that proposal.

I suspect the best political outcome will be key, career politicians will want to keep future prospects open and withdraw may not be in their interests. While they say they work for us, do they? If they can can successfully deliver a wave energy centre in Australia that has 2 or 3 stages from R&D (s1) to commercial (s3) as has always been proposed then the current flak they are getting now will likely fall away. If the axe the project they will save future money expenditure for taxpayers (potentially) and pretty much fall on their sword losing individual career or future elections (not in their interests) as this will provide significant ammunition for the opposition. I think they will pursue the promise they made to setup a farm.

I suspect the dept will be reviewing in great detail as they won’t want anything that causes further damage to wagovt politicians if it does go further pear shaped.

I think they were obliged to say they fulfilled obligation to submit - details will be in confidence until reviewed. I suspect next couple weeks or end of March (I thought I read that timeframe somewhere) but obviously the sooner the better (as the purchase/ manufacture timeframes for 19/20 install window will be closing fast).

Fingers crossed that CCE have a well thought out and comprehensive proposal. Leaving it to the wire is concerning but were probably waiting on finance responses. Mike Fitzpatrick to the rescue!!

It could also be as Carnegie are out and tenders are taken for a replacement . Can't assume the whole thing will fall over just cause Carnegie aren't in the picture
