WA resources identity Michael Kiernan has been lying low since exiting the auction for his old employer, Consolidated Minerals.
But never say die. Turns out that a few months back, the Ukrainians offered to run ConsMin as a joint venture with Kiernan's Territory Resources if their $1 billion bid won the day.
"[Gennadiy Bogolyubov's] strategy was he wanted to get control and then talk to me," Kiernan says.
But he notes nothing's been signed and Ukrainians "have a habit of changing their mind".
Kiernan originally joined Brian Gilbertson in a bid for ConsMin last year before breaking ties with the former BHP Billiton boss of bosses.
Sadly, Kiernan no longer has kind words for the Seth Efrican nor his innovative offer structure that has been knocked back by the Takeovers Panel. "I can't believe someone with the stature of Brian Gilbertson is fighting like two seagulls over a bloody chip," Kiernan says. "It's become an absolute farce."
