That's just wrong.
It's more of a telling sign when there's insider buying as this is a clear positive signal regardless.
But selling is something entirely different. People sell for so many reasons, i.e. personal financial needs, maybe their renovating a house, they need liquidity..could be ANYTHING. That's why it's never a true indicator of their thoughts on the company, as opposed to buying. I've seen directors sell off millions worth and then the sp shoot up 2 weeks later - they're unrelated.
IMO any way, but you'll find that's a general rule.
