That's the beauty with demand and supply curves.
In my view alumina+aluminium demand was already outpacing supply.
Electric vehicles will increase consumption by 7% over the next ten years. China cutting back.
Now Ukraine has stopped producing. Maybe Russia will get sanctioned too.
All it takes is a couple of other minor events or constraints or demand increases and price goes up disproportionately.
Economics 101. With metals there are no, or very few substitutes. Look at tin, copper or lithium.
I think all electric car metals as per the above will exp. the same uplift for a little while.
So if you get in the at the right time you can find yourself a nice little cash cow.
Unless of course inflation goes too high. But that's not a concern for aluminium as its a cheap anyway.
