I believe they will build the Alcore plant close to an ABX bauxite deposit, so that transport costs are minimal, which will mean no one else can compete. I seem to recall reading somewhere (sorry, I don't remember where) that the Alcore plant needs a certain chemistry in the bauxite. Some of the ABX deposits have that chemistry, but it is not generally common.
This announcement doesn't help us in the short term, but does allow a scale up if the tech is proven, so it's very positive in that regard.
