I believe you may be going at AEB slightly harshly on this one. While some of the ventures algae tec have explored have not been as fruitful as one would have liked. The constant ability and drive to be able to look for new business opportunities and to be able to adapt to the business environment around them, warrants credit to the management and to the company as a whole. A lot of different companies would have packed it in and called in quits, the resilience and continued effort by algae tec should be recognized.

There are clear links between AEB's business operations and the medicinal marijuana space, I imagine the process is very similar to the extraction of bio fuels, and whilst the highest barrier of entry for the medical marijuana space is the regulations and policies around the industry within Australia, the partnership with the south american company extinguishes that.

If you are familiar with the marijuana sector in OZ you would have heard of stem cell united; I believe they are in a similar playing field with AEB, and need i not say anything more about their share price YTD.

I would not be to quick to jump the gun on this play by AEB, and while the space is relatively new still its a great time for the company to entering into this new business opportunity.
