Teddyward, reading the details of the suspension and reinstatement I have surmised that the ASX thought the medicinal marijuana announcement meant that there had been a significant change in the nature of AEB's business, ie a move away from algae production to mm production. Apparently it took the ASX a few days to be convinced that they are still involved in algae production and mm is an add on to that.

Under the listing rules if a company is proposing a shift in their main area of business they must seek shareholder approval. The voluntary suspension was forced on AEB as they were not able to convince the ASX in the time available under a trading halt.
