I get every Email for Cap Raises or other capital measures, but no, I can't vote (IBKR is not with Chess, as I understand). But funny thing: I also dont get them on all my other local brokers. They did offer me to vote on local companies, but I dont own a single European one.
Shares are sold then, as I suppose, under their name. But of course, I can transfer shares. Schwab has even an automation process to get funds and equities transferred from IBKR to them.
I am not too much into it, as I could not change it anways, but I think, equities are real, just not under your/my name. Your equities with commsec are yours, that is for sure.
